Artificial insemination
It is the deposit of sperm with the help
of an insemination catheter into the uterus or womb of the woman. Is the
controlled stimulation of the ovaries to produce up to 3 follicles
simultaneously to increase the possibility of pregnancy. the growth of
follicles are monitored and when they reach an optimum size causes ovulation.
Just on that day insemination program to facilitate and synchronize the meeting
of egg and sperm. There are different types of artificial insemination as the site
of the deposit of sperm, however Intrauterine artificial insemination is the
most used, and you get the best results. The other types are used only if no
possible passage of the catheter through the cervix. It is a simple, minimally
invasive do not require anesthesia. It can be done with sperm collected the
same day of the procedure or previously frozen.
artificial insemination with donor
sperm:
In cases where there is the use of sperm
from the couple possible, insemination can be performed with semen donor, which
is cryopreserved in our sperm bank and comes from donors who have gone through
a series of tests to rule genetic diseases and sexually transmitted infections.
Donors are also subjected to psychological evaluations and drug tests.
In vitro fertilization
Is the controlled stimulation of the
ovaries to produce several eggs simultaneously and synchronously. The follicles
are monitored until they reach maturity and before ovulation occurs are
recovered in a procedure called follicular aspiration in the operating room,
which is performed under light sedation and the patient recovers in a couple of
hours later. Aspirates eggs are passed to the in vitro fertilization laboratory
where they are cleaned and evaluated. Subsequently cultured in vitro in conjunction
with spermatozoa to facilitate conception. The embryos are grown from two to
five more days and those embryos that have shown better development and
therefore better potential for pregnancy, they are transferred to the woman's
uterus in hopes that at least one implant producing pregnancy .
Intracytoplasmic
sperm injection, or ICSI of
ICSI
(intracytoplasmic sperm injection English) is performed similarly to the in
vitro fertilization, except that fertilization of oocytes is through injection
of a sperm into the egg using a fine glass micropipette. ICSI is indicated in
cases where semen parameters are severely altered in cases where IVF has failed
or where sperm are obtained by testicular biopsy
ICSI or physiological PICSI :
It is a variant of ICSI, where sperm
selection is based on own sperm biochemical markers indicating the sperm is
mature. The selection of sperm by this method increases the likelihood of
choosing a better sperm DNA integrity, therefore the chances of achieving
pregnancy are improved and decreases the chances of abortion.
Test Sperm DNA Fragmentation
It is a special test that applies only in
patients with severe sperm abnormalities in cases where there varicocele or in
cases where they have failed in vitro fertilization (IVF) or intracytoplasmic
injection espermatzoides (ICSI). This test assesses the percentage of sperm
with damage to the integrity of the DNA, is a useful tool in the management of
male infertility as it indicates who need pretreatment to perform an assisted
reproduction technique. In these cases the prior preparation is vital and helps
increase the probability of achieving pregnancy.
